Cardiac CT Observership
What to Expect
St Bartholomew's Hospital is a centre of excellence for heart and cancer care in London., offering this unique experience to observe all CT imaging including coronies, TAVI, and to join as an observer at MDT meetings.
❋ Various locations across LondonWith key locations including Mile End Hospital (22 patients a day) and Barts (25 patients a day) you’ll gain experience in 2 hospital environments.
❋ Access to busy clinics and curious mindsBarts is a very busy training hospital so there will be many opportunities to network with students and fellows as part of your experience.
❋ Expert FacilitationLed by experienced clinicians, you’ll gain knowledge from Cardiology Professor’s and Consultants, with a wide range of sub-specialities in genetic heart conditions through to non-invasive coronary imaging, and AI-driven plaque assessment.
❋ High quality learning environmentSt Bart’s is recognised for high-standard scans, with a [98% acceptance rate for Heartflow analysis], well above the national average. This gives observers exposure to pathology and decision‑making that smaller units simply cannot offer.
FEES
Contribution Fee: £2750 per week (Max 2 weeks)
Full time for 5 days a week
Accommodation and transport support can be included for an additional fee (subject to contract)
Top Clinical Observership
............As a major teaching centre, Barts attracts fellows, trainees, and international visitors, creating a vibrant learning atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to network and exchange knowledge. For consultants already practising Cardiac CT, the observership offers a rare chance to refine technique, deepen clinical understanding, and observe best‑practice imaging in one of the UK’s busiest and most advanced cardiac units.
How It Works

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Be an overseas postgraduate medical doctor
Have completed a minimum of one full year of postgraduate hospital experience
Be qualified and registered as a medical practitioner in their home country (UK professional registration is not required)
Hold a PLAB 1 pass (required for applicants outside the EEA/Switzerland)
Demonstrate English language proficiency if English is not the first language:
IELTS or OET at level 7.5
or
equivalent evidence of English language competence

The observership takes place 4 times a year. As these dates are randomised and based on availability, they aren’t available in advance on the website. Please email jane@omseminars.com for uptodate availability.

Once you are happy with a date, we’ll provide an application form for you to fill in so we can submit to their department.

Once your application and start date have been accepted, we’ll then invoice you and payment will need to be received before starting the observership.
